2/1/2024 0 Comments Optimizing utorrent for mac![]() ![]() EVERYTHING you've tried so far, including ANYTHING listed above (please be as explicit and specific as you can). Both utorrent installations have been optimized following this site's setup guide, faqs, specific information and router/modem/firewall guides. The mac is a brand spankdy new Apple Mac Mini 2.56 Ghz 4 GB ram purchased within the month running os X 10.6.2 snow leopard, and the other pc which is a Dell Dimension running Windows SP3. THE IDEAL SOLUTION would be for me to run utorrent for mac on the mac at high download speeds and not to run utorrent for windows at all, having that pc on and running only when a visitor is using that pc - not intended for filesharing.Īs of this post my windows pc is able to clock over 500 kbps when i have it dling, and my mac when it is set for dl is only at about 17 kbps, even when the download specified is the recommended download. I am clocking the downloads for only one computer at a time, not expecting high dls on one when the other is powering away. I have uTorrent 1.8.5 for windows installed on another network computer and have had it working with downloads over 500 kbps, but that is also inconsistent. ![]() The Problem: i have uTorrent 0.9.2 beta for mac installed and have had it working with downloads up to over 500 kbps, but that only ever lasts for maybe 5 minutes and then i'm back down to somewhere roughly 25 kbps if i'm lucky. it is this long only so that i can answer all the detailed questions identified in the 'if that doesn't work' link at the bottom of the various guides. Hi, i have spent considerable time going through and following all the wonderful advice online, first elsewhere and then going through all the agida from here (setup guide, faq, troubleshooting, etc.) so bear with my long post.

But if I’m planning on carrying a heavy load, I will definitely use the sternum straps. Overall, I will say that it is a comfortable carry. This is definitely a better choice than traditional buckles. The sternum straps uses magnetic fidlocks as buckles which are a breeze to use. It has happened for me, but so far once in the span of five months. I have read comments online that people have complained about their straps falling out easily. They are attached to the harness system through pass through hooks. However, once I added the sternum strap, I felt that the weight on my shoulders are reduced, and that the weight is better distributed. It felt like the weight of the pack was pressuring down on my shoulders, and that my back wasn’t really rested against the back panel. Having said that, it is not as comfortable as I thought when carrying the Errant. The back panel is empty in the middle to provide better airflow Harness straps of the Errant Sternum straps As for the back panel, it’s ridged and contoured to provide better airflow and fit. ![]() Initially when I first received the pack, the straps are a little too dense but after breaking them in, it’s softer now and more comfortable to use. The straps are thick and very well padded. We’ll take a look at the harness system together with other support features such as sternum strap. This makes it easy to pack and access your items. If it’s raining and you want the best rain protection, you should definitely zip the top flap zip.Īpart from the top flap opening, the Errant can also be opened clamshell mode, like a luggage. But this brings to the next point – rain protection. However, if you zip the top flap all the time, then it kinda defeats the purpose of a quick-access top flap. Having said that, I still find the use of a fidlock top flap a positive because I find more benefits of it compared to the occasional “unable to close”.Īlong the top flap, you’ll find zippers to securely zip it. If that happens you kinda spend some time aligning them properly to close the top flap. The fidlocks sometimes do not snap well because they aren’t well aligned. Compared to the old days when I had to zip open my bag, I prefer using the fidlocks.īut then we have the slight negative, which is closing the top flap. Less than a second and I have opened the top flap and ready to access whatever I want in the bag. It is super easy and fast when opening the top flap. ![]() Use of fidlocks to close and open the top flap Having said that, I do prefer the use fidlocks on the Errant as the speed of opening and closing the flap is really fast once you get used to it. Top flap of the Errantĭepending on the shape of the bag, the fidlocks can sometimes not latch back properly. Instead of employing buckles, Boundary used magnetic fidlocks which I feel are way faster than buckles. The Errant has a sleek and minimalistic look, with a matte and clean hypalon used across the body of the bag. The 5000 Kodra and Nylon, 420 HT Hypalon together with the YKK zippers used kept the interior dry. ![]() But I’m pleased to say that the Errant is still holding up very well and I am impressed by the build quality of the Errant.īe it putting the Errant down on muddy ground, gravel, wet pavements – I was not worried at all. ![]() I used the Errant to many of my travels such as London, Paris, Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Hanoi, and Bali, and have brought it through some rough conditions. 2/1/2024 0 Comments Freedome from religionGalloway 19 controlled, Senior District Judge Hoyt distinguished these cases because both concerned prayer in a legislative, rather than judicial, setting. 17 While the defendant argued that Marsh v. 15 The District Court for the Southern District of Texas granted the plaintiffs’ motion and denied the defendant’s, 16 finding that the opening ceremonies violate the Establishment Clause. 14īoth parties filed motions for summary judgment. 13 On May 29, 2019, Roe and the non-profit organization Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) filed suit against Judge Mack in his individual and official capacities, alleging that Judge Mack’s opening ceremonies violate the Establishment Clause of the U.S. 12 Consequently, in July 2017, feeling that his refusal to participate would prejudice his clients, Roe stopped representing clients whose cases had been assigned to Judge Mack. 11īetween August 2015 and July 2017, attorney John Roe appeared before Judge Mack on ten occasions, and each time “a Christian chaplain delivered a Christian prayer” during the opening ceremonies. 9 In these ceremonies, chaplains offer prayers or “encouraging words.” 10 Those with business before the court are not required to stay in the room and are told that their involvement will not be considered by the court in its decisionmaking. 8 As a corollary to the program, Judge Mack regularly invites the volunteer chaplains to participate in “opening ceremonies” in his courtroom before the first case is called. In 2014, Judge Mack, a justice of the peace in Montgomery County, Texas, created a chaplaincy program to assist him in his duties as county coroner. 7 Regardless of the court’s analysis on the merits of the Establishment Clause claim, the Fifth Circuit’s determination that Judge Mack could not be sued in this way ignored the statute’s text, history, and surrounding jurisprudence. 6 In its reasoning, the court concluded that Judge Mack could not be sued in his official capacity for prospective relief under 42 U.S.C. Mack, 5 the Fifth Circuit issued a stay pending appeal to allow a justice of the peace, Judge Mack, to continue opening court sessions with prayer. 3 As articulated by the Supreme Court: “The purpose of § 1983 is to deter state actors from using the badge of their authority to deprive individuals of their federally guaranteed rights and to provide relief to victims if such deterrence fails.” 4 Recently, in Freedom from Religion Foundation, Inc. ![]() § 1983, which provides a cause of action against any person who deprives another of their constitutional rights under color of law. ![]() 2 One of those statutes was the Civil Rights Act of 1871, now codified at 42 U.S.C. Never one to disappoint such an adoring audience, Voldemort did just that. ''A little wax!'' Bellatrix jeered, ''Maybe you should aim between his eyebrows, my lord!'' Perhaps later, with Bellatrix, he would laugh. The look on his face, Voldemort stifled a snort-laugh. It burned and then, when he dared a glance at it, he found that there weren't any hairs on his arm anymore. ''These spells mostly have French incantations, do you have any idea why?'' Voldemort asked as he sent a spell at Barty that hit his uncovered arm and nearly caused him to drop his wand. ''To make things interesting, I am going to be limiting myself by using ONLY beautification charms, if you will. Perfect, Voldemort mused, already out of tact. Okay.'' By Barty's voice wavering it was neither all right, nor okay. Everyone needed a Bellatrix in their lives. Voldemort smiled at his General indulgently. I imagine I won't need much time to bring you down.'' Bellatrix snorted at that and whispered how she bet he could do that in less than thirty seconds. ''Get up, Junior.'' Lord Voldemort said and motioned for Barty to take out his wand, ''I couldn't help but overhear your conversation.''īarty smiled crookedly, it was a smile of a person who did not know what was going on and was too worried to ask and make a fool of himself. There were those who grovelled and those who were trusted beyond it. ''My lord-'' Barty fell to his knees to genuflect. He entered the room, having stopped eavesdropping, and said: ''Hello, Bella.'' When Hawke first encountered Bernstein at a dinner party and learned his story, the actor/director found himself sharing his own anxieties with the older man. In Ethan Hawke’s 2014 documentary, Seymour: An Introduction, we meet Seymour Bernstein, a celebrated concert pianist who disappointed his public by quitting the stage at age 50 after becoming “a total wreck” from the pressures of performance. And she has been credited by many for making a memorable case for self-care-mental as well as physical-in the pressure cooker of elite public performance. It probably helped the team, which might not have medaled had she continued to underperform. I have never felt like this going into a competition, and I tried to go out and have fun. “You have to be there 100%,” she explained in a press conference. A mistake in gymnastics can mean a broken neck. It’s not like dropping a pass or missing a putt. Her body and mind had slipped “out of sync” in Tokyo, causing her to feel lost in midair during her twisting somersaults off the vault table. She told the press she was taking care of her mental health. ![]() Unlike Bartleby, however, Biles made known her motivation. Why did she prefer not to perform? Some were puzzled, even outraged, and, like Bartleby’s frustrated colleagues, they rushed to supply their own speculative interpretations. The world immediately demanded explanations. We want to know why, but in Bartleby’s world there is no why.īartleby came to mind this week when “the greatest gymnast in history,” Simone Biles, withdrew from the Olympic team competition after a flawed performance in her first event. Or the story itself is Melville’s practical joke on the reading public, luring us down the hermeneutic rabbit hole of a world without reasons. He’s the embodiment of modernity’s “sickness unto death,” the enervation of purpose and will. He’s the existential resistance to a deadening, soulless economy. Literary critics and perplexed readers have been trying to explain Melville’s tale for 168 years. And what is true of Bartleby the character is also true of “Bartleby” the story. Neither reader nor narrator can solve the puzzle of his abiding negation. And he is not a character as we know them in life, with their bundling bustle of details … He is indeed only words, wonderful words, and very few of them.” Įvery attempt by the bewildered narrator to categorize or interpret his eccentric employee vanishes into the black hole of Bartleby’s essential unknowability. As Elizabeth Hardwick describes him, “Bartleby is not a character in the manner of the usual, imaginative, fictional construction. His past is unknown he is barely present in the here and now. What my own astonished eyes saw of Bartleby, that is all I know of him.” įor his employer, Bartleby remains an unknowable blank, an impenetrable opacity. “Bartleby was one of those beings of whom nothing is ascertainable except from the original sources, and, in his case, those are very small. The story is narrated by his employer, who finds himself “strangely goaded on” to discover the motivation for Bartleby’s eccentric behavior. When, in the end, he lands in jail, he prefers “not to dine,” and dies of starvation. ![]() When finally discharged by his boss, he prefers not to leave the premises. He prefers not to perform assigned tasks, or to explain why. In “Bartleby the Scrivener,” Herman Melville’s notoriously perplexing short story, his principal character speaks just thirty-seven lines, over a third of them variations on a simple declaration: “I would prefer not to.” Having taken a job copying documents in a law firm, he offers that same maddening reply to every request. “Wandering away from everything, giving up everything, not me anymore, not any of it.” Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry, I would prefer not to (2005). |
